BLOOMING PLANT BASKET CARE

Water
Your blooming basket contains multiple, individually potted plants. The basket is lined with foil or a liner, allowing you to water the plants while they’re still in the basket. Water each pot when the surface soil feels dry to the touch. Water thoroughly and pour off any excess water so the plants do not stand in water.

Light and Temperature
Bright, filtered light is preferred. Do not place the plants in direct sunlight as this tends to burn the plants. Most blooming plants will bloom longest in cool temperatures (55-70 degrees.)

Fertilize
Periodically fertilize your plants. Follow directions on the manufacturer’s label.

To promote more blooms, pinch faded blossoms.

PLANTER CARE

Fresh Flowers
If your planter contains fresh cut flowers, be aware that those flowers are in water tubes pushed into the soil. Those water tubes will need to be filled with water daily. Cut flowers added to a planter will last at least 3 days.

Water
Water thoroughly when sub-surface soil feels dry to the touch. Do not let plants stand in water.

Light and Temperature
Your planter prefers moderate, indirect light. Avoid placing your planter in direct sun and avoid excessive heat or cold.

Fertilize
Periodically fertilize your planter. Follow directions on the manufacturer’s label.

ORCHID PLANT CARE
Orchids flower year round, but most heavily in the fall & spring.

Water
Keep evenly moist, not soggy. Water in the morning with tepid water. During the winter heating season when air is drier, you may mist your orchid.

Light & Temperature
Your orchid prefers filtered light and temperatures between 60-85 degrees. Do not place in direct sun or in drafty areas.

Fertilizer
Feed monthly in warm months with Orchid specific fertilizer. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions as note on the tag attached to your planter.

Plant in a sunny location in good garden soil once the threat of frost has passed.

Water
Keep soil moderately moist.

Fertilizer
Fertilize your miniature rose bush periodically according to manufacturer’s directions.

Tips for success

AFRICAN VIOLET CARE

Light
African Violets like bright, filtered light. Do not place in direct sun as this tends to burn the delicate violet foliages.

Temperature
Moderate room temperature is preferred. Cold temperatures and drafts will shorten the period of bloom.

Water
Water thoroughly from the bottom when soil feels dry to the touch. Do not get water on the leaves of the plants as this will mar the leaves.

Fertilizer
Fertilize periodically using an African Violet Fertilizer according to the manufacturer’s directions.

Tips for Success
To encourage new blooms, remove spent flowers.

Temperature
Moderate temperatures of 65-70 degrees are ideal. Avoid excessive heat or cold and avoid drafts.
